Ms. Shipiki Kali is a mining professional with over 26yrs experience, she is currently the Business Optimisation Manager for Debmarine Namibia. She started as a Metallurgist in Training with the De Beers Group of Companies. Occupying various roles in production and projects, until 1999 when she was seconded to the De Beers Corporate Centre.
Whilst at the Corporate Centre, she traversed the Diamond Mines in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia to find metallurgical best practices. She was part of the team that set up the Debmarine Namibia diamond mining company in 2002. She established the Production Metallurgical function which was responsible for providing metallurgical governance/standards to the Marine Mining Fleet. Whilst at Debmarine she managed Diamond mining vessels, providing safety & production leadership.
In 2012 Maenge was seconded to the Anglo American Corporate Centre in Johannesburg, where she formed part of the global team which conducted Asset Reviews in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and Canada.
Maenge is passionate about safety and find ways to influence the conversation and approach to a resilient safety culture. She was part of the Elimination of Fatalities global task team for Anglo. She is currently driving the optimization of the Operations Risk Management process, implementation the Operating Model and creating Digitalisation alignment.
Maenge holds a Bachelor of Science in Mineral Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. She is a registered professional member of the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
